Ask about internal dust cleaning for your laptop
Internal cleaning is a defined maintenance job, checked for your model and safe access. Agree the areas involved and disclose existing faults before the visit.
When internal cleaning may be useful
Internal cleaning may be useful when dust has accumulated in accessible ventilation or cooling areas. The aim is to remove that build-up within the agreed maintenance scope.
Warmth or fan noise alone does not prove the laptop is dirty. Recurring shutdowns or abnormal behaviour need assessment of the fault rather than an assumption that cleaning will fix it. Cleaning and overheating assessment have separate pages for that reason.
What is included in the cleaning scope?
The cleaning task is dust removal from the internal areas that can safely be reached on the particular laptop. The accepted scope identifies those areas and the disassembly needed to access them; it does not mean every internal component will be removed or cleaned.
Fan replacement, thermal-paste renewal and liquid-damage treatment are not automatically included. They require separate assessment and agreement. The quote records the actual cleaning scope rather than treating all laptop models as the same job.
Access and precautions for your model
Laptop access varies: some covers and cooling areas are more involved than others. David checks the required tools and safe approach before acceptance. You do not need to open the machine for the initial enquiry; provide the full model and condition instead.
Checks and faults that cleaning cannot fix
Relevant operation is checked around the maintenance where possible. Cleaning cannot repair a broken fan, damaged electronics or every thermal problem. If an unexplained fault persists, the next step needs a separate discussion rather than repeated promises that more cleaning will solve it.
Request a cleaning quote
Send the model, the maintenance you want and any existing heat, noise or shutdown symptoms. The quote should make clear which areas are covered and any disassembly. Prepare a suitable workspace and back up important files before the agreed visit.
Your questions, answered.
Does cleaning include replacing a fan?
No. A fan replacement is a separate component job and is not automatically part of the cleaning scope.
Is thermal-paste replacement included?
Not automatically. Ask whether any additional thermal work is supported and separately agreed for the model; dust cleaning should not imply it is included.
Will cleaning stop every overheating problem?
No. Temperature problems can have causes beyond dust. Disclose the symptoms first and discuss whether an assessment is more appropriate.
Tell David what needs attention.
A model, a description and a postcode are enough to start the conversation. The suitable work and total price are agreed before booking.
