Help when your iPhone does not pick up your voice
If others cannot hear you, describe where the voice disappears. Calls, speakerphone and recordings can behave differently, and the supported repair depends on the model.
Where is your voice missing?
Voice missing from ordinary calls, speakerphone, video or voice recordings is a sound-input problem. Whether it affects one use or several helps narrow the checks needed, but does not identify a failed component on its own.
If the problem is the sound you hear, use the speaker page instead. If your voice is affected only with a connected accessory or in one application, the accessory, app settings or permissions may be relevant before hardware repair is considered.
Settings, accessories or hardware?
App permissions, a connected accessory or a case covering an opening can affect the sound the phone records. A problem limited to one app or accessory therefore needs different checks from missing voice across several uses.
Where safe, compare the affected use without the accessory and check the relevant app's microphone permission. Use a short, non-personal recording if a recording test is needed. A continuing fault can still require hardware assessment; private audio does not need to be sent with an enquiry.
What microphone repair may involve
Microphone repair may involve the assembly that contains the affected microphone rather than a separately replaceable microphone. The required work depends on the model, the affected uses and any linked functions.
The supported scope identifies that assembly and the input functions to be checked afterward. A sound-input fault is not automatically resolved by one part, and a separate microphone replacement is not offered for every model or symptom.
How the affected functions are tested
Relevant input functions can be checked using short, non-personal test recordings or agreed call tests. Only necessary access should be used. Intermittent faults and functions that cannot be tested need to be recorded rather than treated as proven fixed.
Share the model and affected uses
Send the model, affected uses and when the problem started. Include impact, liquid or prior repair history. This is an assessment enquiry: it does not promise that a sound-input fault can be resolved by a particular part.
Your questions, answered.
Why can one app record sound while another cannot?
Different applications, permissions or input paths may behave differently. Describe the pattern; it does not by itself identify the failed hardware.
Could a case obstruct a microphone?
A case can obstruct an opening. Note whether removing it changes the behaviour, but do not insert tools into the microphone openings.
Does microphone repair always mean replacing a separate part?
No. The relevant hardware and repair arrangement depend on the model. The accepted scope should identify what is being fitted and which functions will be checked.
Tell David what needs attention.
A model, a description and a postcode are enough to start the conversation. The suitable work and total price are agreed before booking.
